New and used instruments
The Jasco FP-920 Fluorescence Detector is a high-performance, second-hand system designed for precise fluorescence detection applications. This instrument is equipped with a sophisticated monochromator, utilizing a holographic concave diffraction grating for both excitation (Ex) and emission (Em) processes. The light source is a 150 W xenon lamp, mounted horizontally, enabling stable and reliable illumination.
It operates over a wavelength range of 220 to 650 nm for both excitation and emission, with an impressive wavelength accuracy of 2 nm and repeatability of 0.3 nm. The excitation monochromator features a spectrum bandwidth of 18 nm, while the emission monochromator allows switching between 10, 16, and 40 nm via convenient keypad input.
Detection is managed by a photodiode for excitation and a photomultiplier for emission. The system is optimized for efficiency with a compact flow cell capacity of 16 µL, and it's crafted from high-quality solvent-wetted materials including synthetic silica, fluororesin, PEEK, and stainless steel.
The instrument supports a broad measurement range with gains adjustable at x1, x10, x100, and x1000. It offers response modes—Fast, Standard, Slow—and employs a digital filter method for versatile signal processing. Advanced digital processing is achieved through A/D and D/A converters, complete with ambient temperature compensation circuits for enhanced accuracy.
Output channels include a recorder output at 10 mV/FS (with polarity change capability) and an integrator output at 1 V/FS, each featuring individual circuits for marker and leak output. Input options consist of circuits for marker and autozero input, along with a program reset run input for streamlined operations.
The detector's program functions enable comprehensive time programming for Ex and Em wavelengths, gain, attenuation, and wavelength scan. Wavelength scan functions incorporate manual and time-programmed Ex and Em spectrum measurement, with capacity for storing and retrieving up to 10 Ex and 10 Em spectra, as well as difference spectrum output.
Designed with a compact footprint, the dimensions are 300 mm x 150 mm x 460 mm, and the unit weighs 19 kg, making it a practical addition to any laboratory setting.
