This Leica DM IRB/E Inverted Motorised Microscope was removed from a university lab where it was sur (more)plus to requirements. The item is in reasonable cosmetic condition. Parts of it are discoloured from dust/age while there are some stains in the joints/corners. The item is missing its stage and doesn't come with any additional components such as the electronic nosepiece control and a PSU for the light. The item powers on without issue but without a stage and the extra components we were unable to test it further. Illumination is provided by a 6v/30w Halogen lamp, with adjustable field and aperture diaphragms enabling users to easily create homogeneous and repeatable illumination. Together, these increase image quality by reducing stray light and increasing contrast. The field diaphragm also plays a key role in Conoscopic observation.The BA310POL contains a pre-centered stage, 160mm in diameter, with a continuous 360 degree scale in 1 degree increments. This provides sample orientation and enables semi-quantitative measurements. Furthermore, high precision ball bearings ensure smooth rotation, as well as precise positioning of the test sample. The stage also contains a chemical resistant surface, hard coated to withstand abrasion. Users will find a fully rotatable polarizer with 90 degree click stops, contained in a sub stage condenser carrier.
