The Motic Panthera E2 series are upright compound microscopes designed for life science education and small research laboratories. Key features include:
- Optical System: Color Corrected Infinity Optical System (CCIS®) with Plan Ultra Contrast objectives providing high-quality brightfield, phase contrast, darkfield, and polarization imaging.
- Observation Tubes: Available in binocular and trinocular (fixed 50:50 light split) configurations, both with Siedentopf type heads allowing 360° swiveling and 25° inclination.
- Objectives: Standard sets include CCIS® UC Plan Achromatic objectives — 4X/0.10 (WD 30.5 mm), 10X/0.25 (WD 17.4 mm), 40X/0.65/S (WD 0.6 mm), and optional 100X/1.25/S oil immersion (WD 0.16 mm). Objective threads conform to RMS standard (W 4/5"x1/36").
- Stage: Mechanical stage of 140×135 mm with rackless coaxial low-position stage controls and sample holder. Travel range: 75×40 mm.
- Illumination: Fixed Koehler 1W LED illumination with intensity control and LED light intensity indicator on the nosepiece.
- Condenser: Focusable and centerable Abbe condenser N.A. 0.90/1.25 including slot for contrast sliders.
- Focusing: Coaxial coarse and fine focusing with tension adjustment; fine focus precision of 2 μm; focusing stroke of 25 mm with preset but adjustable upper limit stop.
- Eyepieces: Widefield UC-WF10X/20 mm with diopter adjustment ±5 on both eyepieces. Interpupillary distance adjustable between 48–75 mm.
- Power Supply: Internal transformer with voltage input 110–240 V (CE certified), USB 2.0 port for battery pack and external camera power.
