Centricon Plus-70 Centrifugal Filter Units

The Centricon Plus-70 Centrifugal Filter Units, available as a second-hand system, are designed for high recovery concentration of samples. These filters are suitable for concentrating a variety of biological materials, including antigens, antibodies, enzymes, nucleic acids, and microorganisms, and are particularly effective for purifying macromolecular components from cell lysates. They are also ideal for desalting and performing buffer exchanges.

For use with a swing bucket rotor, these units can operate at 4,000 x g, and with a fixed angle rotor at 35°, they can achieve speeds up to 5,000 x g. They incorporate a high-recovery Ultracel® regenerated cellulose membrane, available in a range of molecular weight cut-offs, ensuring flexibility for various applications.

Designed to provide high retentate recovery of over 90%, these units feature a vertical membrane configuration to minimize concentration polarization, enabling ultra-fast spin times as quick as 10 to 15 minutes. The heat-sealed membrane construction minimizes potential downstream extractables and each unit is 100% integrity-tested to ensure reliable performance.

The translucent housing with volume graduations facilitates convenient monitoring of samples, while direct pipettor access streamlines the recovery of concentrates, eliminating an additional processing step. The system is capable of achieving high concentration factors of 80 to 100X, with typical protein recovery rates reaching 97.94%.
