The Olympus OLA2500 Lab Automation System (LAS) is a modular platform designed for medium- to high-volume laboratory sample processing. It automates aliquotting, decapping, sorting, and labeling of sample tubes with the following features:

- Aliquotting: up to 650 tubes/hour
- Sorting: up to 800 tubes/hour
- Sorting destination capacity: up to 1,080 tubes
- Input capacity: up to 300 samples

Sample Processing Capabilities:
- Automated aliquotting with user-defined priority settings
- Selective decapping of screw cap, conventional rubber, BD Hemoguard, and optional foil top closures
- Sorting to any number of user-defined analyzer racks, including Olympus, Hitachi, Beckman-Coulter
- Onboard digital image analysis detects sample tube size, cap type/color, and sample volume
- Clot detection ensures valid sample distribution
- Disposable conductive aliquot tips prevent cross-contamination
- Secondary tube creation with user-defined barcode label printing
- Sorting and archiving functions can operate in parallel or separately in batch mode
