This Don Whitley Scientific miniMACS Anaerobic Workstation was removed from a university lab where i (more)t was surplus to requirements. The unit has been looked at by a qualified service engineer. The pump works from the main socket but not from the instrument socket. They cleaned the filter which was previously making the pump run loudly. They repaired the fans which were previously broken. They have tested the cabinet with a vacuum pump and it seems it is holding the vacuum. Although one piece of plexiglass holding the right door lock is broken. The system holds a vacuum despite this. The temperature was tested up to 37˚c, it took about an hour to reach this. It is in reasonably good cosmetic condition but has some minor marks from use and the aforementioned crack.

RADWAG mass comparators have been recognized by calibration laboratories in many countries. The HRP 5Y.KO mass comparators consist of two elements: a professional weighing platform (modern design of an electromagnetic mechanism in a hermetic steel casing) and 5Y terminal. The weighing platform is made of steel and features marks facilitating centric loading of mass standards. The comparator can be equipped with a self-centring weighing pan (extra charge), which significantly minimises the influence of eccentricity during measurements. The self-centring weighing pan eliminates the error of placing the weight "out of pan centre". This solution also enables calibrating weights of different shapes and dimensions without the need to set the positioners for central loading of the mass standard each time. The Synergy Water Purification System is fed with pretreated water (Elix, RO, distilled or DI water) (more) coming from a tank or a loop. When Product Water is being dispensed, the Inlet Solenoid Valve opens and the Booster Pump turns on. The pretreated water is then pumped into the UV Lamp (UV System). The UV Lamp emits light at 185 nm and 254 nm. It is used to reduce levels of organic molecules in the water. The UV Lamp is a consumable device that needs to be periodically replaced during the maintenance of the system. The water is then sent to the SynergyPak cartridge to deionize the water. There are three types of SynergyPak. SynergyPak 1 is used for RO, distilled or Elix feedwater. SynergyPak 2 is used for pretreated water from clean DI (particulate-free). SynergyPak 3 is used for pretreated water from dirty DI (non particulate-free). The SynergyPak is a consumable device that needs to be periodically replaced during the maintenance of the system. The Final Filter is a membrane based filter that  removes all particles and bacteria with a size greater than the filter pore size. The Final Filter is a consumable device.
