SRI 8610C Gas Chromatograph System

The SRI 8610C GC Gas Chromatograph System is built for high-precision gas analysis, ideal for laboratory research that demands reliable results. Initially returned for investigation due to a damaged glass piece in the photoionization detector, the issue was resolved with a replacement part. The system was configured using N2 as the carrier gas. Upon turning the Photoionization Detector at high sensitivity, the detector's function was visibly confirmed. Although the setup was correctly programmed to operate the 10-way valve and facilitate the carrier gas flow, initial tests using acetone did not display chromatographic peaks when introduced via both the sample loop and direct injection. A comprehensive leak check on the piping and detectors revealed no issues; however, the valve mechanism produced a concerning noise, indicating potential defects. While the unit was surplus from a university lab and powers on correctly, further testing could not be completed at our facility. Nonetheless, it is reported to be in good working condition and has maintained an excellent cosmetic state, showing minimal wear.
