What is a disperser?
A disperser, also known as a homogenizer, Cell Lysor, High Shear Mixer, Polytron, Stator Rotor Homogenizer, Sonicizer, or Tissue Tearer, serves the primary purpose of creating a uniform mixture by processing the sample through a narrow, confined space. Devices like the Velp's OV 625 Digital utilize blades as a rotor for dispersal.

How does it work?
The dispersing tool comprises a high-speed rotating rotor within a stationary stator. The area between the rotor tip and the stator slot is referred to as the shear gap. The fluid is drawn into the dispersion head axially and then expelled radially through the cutting gap, effectively breaking up the particles due to the high circumferential velocity.
