Parts of it are discoloured from dust/age while there are some stains in the joints/corners. The item is missing its stage and doesn't come with any additional components such as the electronic nosepiece control and a PSU for the light. The item powers on without issue but without a stage and the extra components we were unable to test it further. This Olympus BX40F-3 Microscope was removed from a university lab where it was surplus to requiremen (more)ts. The unit is in reasonable used cosmetic condition but it does have various marks, scratches and signs of general use. The lamp adjustment slider is snapped off but it can still be operated if you put something thin in the hole(ie small flat screwdriver). Please let us know if this is a major problem for you - we may be able to complete a repair or source a replacement. The microscope has been tested using one of our slides and it appears to work well with all fitted objectives.
