The “SD” series is widely used in laboratories, especially when the vapors are humid and a clean and ecological vacuum is required. Typical applications are: vacuum ovens (for drying chemicals, drying biological samples, heat treatments), autoclaves for sterilizing instruments, containers, filters and textiles. Thanks to the use of anti-corrosion materials, it is possible to vacuum even corrosive products. The heart of the pump is the diaphragm with differentiated structure in PTFE, optimized to guarantee high performance with reduced dimensions and at the same time, long life even in heavy applications. When the humid gases are sucked in, it can happen that condensation forms in the pump head: consequently the performance decreases, considerably increasing the emptying time. To eliminate condensation, the 'drying system' then opens a solenoid valve that allows ambient air to enter the heads. Once the condensation has been eliminated, the solenoid valve closes and the pump sucks from the stove in full capacity. Over time, condensation could form again and then the cycle is repeated. The time interval between one cycle and the next can be adjusted as desired, as well as the duration of the air injection.
