Es kann wahlweise für die Probenahme des Feinstaubteils entsprechend der Johannesburger Konvention oder für die Probenahme der einatembaren Gesamtstaubfraktion eingesetzt werden. Das Gerät arbeitet bei einem pulsationsfreien Luftdurchsatz von 4 m³/h +-2,5%. Der Luftdurchsatz in Betriebskubikmetern wird unabhängig von der Filterbelegung, der Umgebungstemperatur und dem atmosphärischen Luftdruck konstant gehalten.
