Heraeus Biofuge 13 centrifuge 1991-cover
Heraeus Biofuge 13 centrifuge 1991

The Heraeus Biofuge 13 centrifuge is a bit like a classic car: it may be old, but it still has plent (more)y of life left in it! Despite its age, this centrifuge is still super useful and remains a beloved tool for many researchers and technicians. Sure, it may not have all the bells and whistles of some of the newer models, but the Biofuge 13 is a classic that gets the job done. It's like the lab equivalent of an old pickup truck: not the fanciest thing on the block, but it's reliable and it's been around the block a few times. One of the best things about the Biofuge 13 is its versatility. It's like a Swiss Army knife of centrifuges: it can handle a wide range of samples and applications, from DNA isolation to protein purification. And despite being a bit of an old-timer, it's still got some serious speed, reaching up to 13,000 RPM to ensure efficient separation of samples. Now, of course, some people might say that the Biofuge 13 is a bit...well, dated. But we like to think of it as a classic that never goes out of style. It's like a lab version of a vintage vinyl record: it may be a bit scratchy, but it's still got that warm, authentic sound that you just can't replicate with a digital file. And let's not forget about the cost savings! The Biofuge 13 may be a bit long in the tooth, but it's still an affordable option for labs with limited budgets. It's like finding a classic car at a garage sale: sure, it might need a bit of work, but you can't beat the price. In conclusion, the Heraeus Biofuge 13 centrifuge is a bit like a fine wine or a classic rock band: it only gets better with age. Despite being an older model, it remains a valuable tool for many labs, thanks to its versatility, reliability, and affordability. So let's raise a glass (or a test tube) to the Biofuge 13 and all the other classic lab instruments that continue to get the job done!

Retsch BB2 Jaw Crusher-cover
Retsch BB2 Jaw Crusher

The BB 2 jaw crusher is used for fast, soft, coarse and preliminary crushing of medium, hard, brittl (more)e and hard materials. The design variants (e.g. heavy metal-free) and the performance and safety features make it ideal for sample preparation in the laboratory and factory. Smaller sample quantities can be crushed in batches in the BB 2, with larger quantities continuous operation is possible. Adjustment of the gap width and the zero point enable reproducible results. The disc spring package is an overload protection for the device and, together with the central lubrication system, guarantees a long operating time. Application examples Basalt, building materials, ores, feldspar, glass, granite, ceramics, coal, coke, alloys, minerals, oxide ceramics, quartz, fireclay, slag, silicon, stones, cement clinker, … Advantages High degree of grinding Zero point adjustment for wear compensation Adjustment of the split width Overload protection Large selection of materials for analysis neutral grinding Non-splashing hinged funnel with quick release Brake motor with safety switch Easy cleaning of the crushing chamber Continuous comminution Dust extraction connection Central lubrication Installation version for online use Version for grinding semiconductor materials Working principle The BB 2 jaw crusher is a robust and powerful single toggle toggle breaker. The feed material enters the grinding chamber through the non-recoil hopper. The crushing takes place in the wedge-shaped shaft between the fixed crushing arm and the crushing arm which is moved by an eccentric shaft. Due to the elliptical movement sequence, the feed material is crushed and guided downwards. Once the material is finer than the lowest crush gap adjustment, it falls into a removable collection container. The infinitely variable gap adjustment ensures optimum adjustment in accordance with the material supplied and the desired final fineness. This is an older model but works just as well.
