It can also be used to measure absorbance. Light sources: The flash light source used for measurements is a UV xenon flash tube, spectral range 230 – 1100 nm. In AlphaScreen a 680 nm diode laser is used. For homogeneous TRF-assays a 337 nm nitrogen laser is available. Detection units Absorbance: Photo diode, range 230-950 nm Luminescence, Fluorescence and TR-Fluorescence: Photomultiplier tube, range 230 – 850 nm Plate shaking: Three plate shaking modes are available: linear, orbital and double orbital.
