The iBlot 2 Gel Transfer Device is an essential element of the iBlot 2 Dry Blotting System, comprising both the transfer device and consumable transfer stacks which include necessary buffers and a transfer membrane, either nitrocellulose or PVDF. This device completes protein transfers in 7 minutes or less, offering high detection sensitivity and uniform transfer. It enhances blotting reliability and reproducibility, allowing for flexible gel size formats and membrane types. Designed to be a simple, user-friendly system, the iBlot 2 provides options for creating new custom programs, complemented by a built-in tutorial and application notes. The high-quality transfer stacks are now more compact than ever. It enables rapid, high-quality protein transfers via dry electroblotting from mini, midi, and E-PAGE gels onto nitrocellulose or PVDF membranes for Western detection. The iBlot 2 ensures a high-quality transfer with crisp, clear bands that remain sharp and straight, showcasing exceptional transfer efficiency. Membrane compatibility includes nitrocellulose and PVDF, with throughput for 1 midi or 2 mini gels. Featuring a horizontal running dimension and designed for use with Western Blot applications, this equipment is compatible with Bolt Bis-Tris Plus Gel, E-PAGE Gel, Novex Midi Gel, NuPAGE Gel, and Novex Mini Gel. Mode of transfer is dry, with a running time of approximately 7 minutes. The device measures 370 x 200 x 110 mm and weighs 2.3 kg.
electrophoresis
Electrophoresis is a laboratory technique used to separate molecules based on their size, charge, and other properties. It is commonly used to separate proteins, nucleic acids, and other molecules. In electrophoresis, molecules are placed in a gel matrix and an electric field is applied. The molecules then move through the gel matrix in response to the electric field, with larger molecules moving more slowly than smaller molecules. This allows the molecules to be separated into distinct bands based on their size. Electrophoresis is used in a variety of research and clinical applications, including DNA sequencing, protein analysis, and disease diagnosis.
