The Zebra S4M Thermal Label Printer is a versatile second-hand system ideal for various labeling applications. It offers two print resolution options: 203 dots per inch (dpi), equivalent to 8 dots per mm, and 300 dpi, equivalent to 12 dots per mm. The printer accommodates dot sizes of 0.125 x 0.125 mm for 203 dpi and 0.084 x 0.099 mm for 300 dpi.

With a maximum print width of 104 mm at 203 dpi and 106 mm at 300 dpi, this printer is suitable for a wide range of media widths. It supports bar code modulus from 5 mil to 50 mil at 203 dpi and from 3.3 mil to 33 mil at 300 dpi. Users can program print speeds at increments of 51, 76, 102, 127, and 152 mm/s to best suit their requirements.

The media label dimensions include a minimum length of 17.8 mm for tear-off applications and 12.7 mm for peel-off applications, with a maximum length of 991 mm. It supports media widths ranging from 19 mm to 114 mm and total media thickness, including liners, from 0.076 mm to 0.25 mm. The maximum allowable media roll outer diameter is 203 mm for a 76 mm core and 152 mm for a 25 mm core.

The printer accommodates media inter-label gaps ranging from 2 to 4 mm, with a preferred gap of 3 mm. Ticket or tag notches are supported with dimensions of 6 x 3 mm, while the media hole diameter is specified at 3 mm. Media notch or hole positions are flexible, ranging from 3.8 mm to 57 mm centered from the inner media edge.

The device handles media black mark density of over 1.0 ODU and a maximum density of 0.5 ODU. It supports ribbon widths from 51 mm to 109 mm, with standard ribbon roll lengths of 300 meters for a 2:1 media-to-ribbon roll ratio and 450 meters for a 3:1 ratio.
