The Synergy Water Purification System is fed with pretreated water (Elix, RO, distilled or DI water) (more) coming from a tank or a loop. When Product Water is being dispensed, the Inlet Solenoid Valve opens and the Booster Pump turns on. The pretreated water is then pumped into the UV Lamp (UV System). The UV Lamp emits light at 185 nm and 254 nm. It is used to reduce levels of organic molecules in the water. The UV Lamp is a consumable device that needs to be periodically replaced during the maintenance of the system. The water is then sent to the SynergyPak cartridge to deionize the water. There are three types of SynergyPak. SynergyPak 1 is used for RO, distilled or Elix feedwater. SynergyPak 2 is used for pretreated water from clean DI (particulate-free). SynergyPak 3 is used for pretreated water from dirty DI (non particulate-free). The SynergyPak is a consumable device that needs to be periodically replaced during the maintenance of the system. The Final Filter is a membrane based filter that  removes all particles and bacteria with a size greater than the filter pore size. The Final Filter is a consumable device.

The Nucleofector technology is a major improvement of the well known electroporation technology. The (more) Nucleofector technology involves a combination of optimized electrical parameters and specific Nucleofector solutions for different cell types. This combination permits the crucials step: delivery of the DNA of interest straight into the nucleus. As the DNA quickly reaches the nucleus, expression can begin without delay. The nucleofected cells are thus ready for analysis after a short incubation time of only 2 – 8 hours. DNA quality: 1 – 5 µg plasmid concentration per nuclefection sample (100 µl), plasmid concentration can be increased up to 10 µg per sample. This may lead to higher gene transfer efficiencies, but at the same time may increase mortality of the cells. Cell density: 2 x 105 – 1 x 107 cells per nuclefection sample for suspensions cells 2 x 105 – 2 x 106 cells per sample for adherent cells Cell densities of < 2 x 105 cells per smaple are not advisable beacause the gene transfer efficiency may decrease and mortality may increase.
