Description by the supplier

The OHAUS Scout SKX123 Portable Scale, featuring a platter with 93mm diameter, sets a standard for weight-based instructional needs. Equipped with a large and luminescent LCD screen and innovative educational software, it's an invaluable resource for any classroom setting. Its superior overload protection, swift stabilization times, expanded range, wide array of connectivity, and stackable design make it the premier solution for a hands-on learning experience.

Integrated functions:

1. Weighing: Facilitates sample weight demonstration in the chosen measurement unit.

2. Density determination: Allows for calculation of both solids and liquids density. The included weigh-below hook makes it possible to test specific gravity of objects unsuitable for the weighing pan.

3. Molar concentration: Computes sample mass with an automatic conversion to molar concentration.

Display:

A backlit Liquid Crystal Display (LCD)

Power Source:

An AC Adapter (included) or four AA batteries (not provided)

Connectivity:

Compatible with RS232, USB host, USB device, Ethernet, or Bluetooth™ (available separately)

Build:

Constructed of ABS housing with a stainless steel pan and ABS draft shield in 1mg models. Features a bottom weigh hook, transport lock, manual calibration lock switch, and security slot.

Notable features:

The scale exhibits a stability indicator and features a stackable design with an included storage lid (excluding 1 mg model), ensuring ease of use. It features both mechanical and software overload/underload protection, low battery indicator, and automatic shut-off feature. Automatic taring is another included feature while models with capacity up to 620g include a span calibration mass for exceptional precision.

Integrated applications: - Weighing: determines the weight of the objects on the pan in the selected unit of measurement. - Piece Counting: Counts the number of pieces on the pan using a uniform weight. - Percent Weighing: Measures the weight of a sample displayed as a percentage of a preset weight reference. - Weight check: compares the weight of a sample with respect to the target limits. - Dynamic Weighing: Weighs an unstable sample load. The scale takes an average of weights over a period of time. - Totalization: measures the cumulative weight of multiple objects. The cumulative total can exceed the capacity of the balance. - Density determination: determines the density of solids or liquids. With the integrated weigh below hook, specific gravity tests can be performed for objects that cannot be easily placed on the weighing pan. - Display Hold: Manually holds the last stable weight or the first highest stable weight value on the display. - Mole Weighing: Measures the weight of a sample and  calculate it into Moles automatically
