The scale's applications are:
- Weighing: It allows the precise determination of sample weight in the selected unit of measure.
- Density Determination: It carries out the computation of the density of solids or liquids. The integrated weigh-below hook facilitates specific gravity tests for objects unsuitable for placement on the weighing pan.
- Molar Concentration: It allows the computation of a sample's mass and automatic conversion into molar concentration.
The display of this scale is a Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) with a backlight. It can be operated using an AC adapter, included, or 4 AA batteries, not included.
It features a variety of communication options including RS232, USB host, USB device, Ethernet or Bluetooth™ (available as an accessory). The construction comprises ABS housing, a stainless steel pan, an ABS draft shield (exclusive to the 1mg model), a bottom weigh hook, a transport lock, a manual calibration lock switch, and a security slot.
Key design features include a stability indicator, a stackable design with an included storage lid (except for the 1 mg model), mechanical and software overload/underload protection, a low battery indicator, automatic shut-off, automatic tare, and a span calibration mass included in models with a capacity of up to 620 g.
